Steps To Obtain a Real Estate License

Complete the prescribed 180 hours of real estate education set forth by the Texas Real Estate Commission. (TREC). Courses can be completed at home on your computer or in a formal classroom.

File with the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC)

Application
Certificates of completion for the 180 hours of education discussed above.

You will receive notice from TREC in approximately 2 weeks notifying you that your application from step 2 has been accepted. In that notice you will be directed to complete the last 2 final task to obtain a license.

Take and pass the state real estate exam to become licensed real estate agent.
Get your finger prints which will be used for a background check. (Serious offences can be a disqualification)
